1. The product
Diplo Translator Omni is created and licensed by Dan “Diplo” Booth (the licensor). It translates supported saved Dictionary and content values through an Umbraco.AI provider configured on your site. See the requirements and supported property editors for compatibility and setup details.
The software is licensed, not sold. Its ownership, permitted use and restrictions are set out in the commercial software licence, also included in the NuGet package. These terms describe the purchase, evaluation and support arrangements alongside that licence. Third-party components retain their own licences.
2. Single Site Licence
Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, a Single Site Licence covers one production Umbraco website, with up to three active installations in total across its associated development, test, staging and production environments. Each independent installation requires activation. These slots do not cover unrelated production sites. Deactivate retired installations to release slots; contact support if you need additional installations.
An agency may purchase a standard Single Site Licence for one client's production website and its associated environments within those limits. It does not cover other client websites or permit redistribution of Omni as a standalone product. Contact us about multi-site arrangements or transferring the licence to a different holder; the software licence is otherwise non-transferable.
3. Annual subscription and cancellation
The standard Single Site Licence is an annual subscription, currently £249 per year. Checkout confirms the price, currency, applicable taxes and renewal frequency before you subscribe. The subscription renews automatically until cancelled.
You can cancel future renewal through the Polar customer portal or contact Polar support for billing assistance. Cancellation takes effect at the next billing cycle; it does not immediately end a paid entitlement that remains valid for the current period. Check the cancellation confirmation for the effective date.
Permission to use Omni ends when your entitlement ends or is revoked. You must then stop using and remove the software as required by the commercial software licence. Your existing content and translations remain yours; ending the entitlement does not transfer them to Dan Booth or Polar.
4. Free evaluation
The free evaluation covers one active Umbraco installation and five accepted single-page draft translation runs, with no time limit. Each run targets one language and requires an eligible saved source page with a missing target-language page name and supported text to translate. Previews and read-only reporting do not consume a run.
A run is counted when the server accepts the job, even if the job is later cancelled or unsuccessful. Requests rejected before acceptance do not consume a run. Deactivating an installation does not reset consumed usage. Contact support if a technical problem affects your evaluation.
Section translation, bulk Dictionary translation, overwriting existing values and forced retranslation require a paid entitlement. The evaluation does not automatically convert into a paid subscription; purchasing a paid licence is a separate step. AI provider usage costs remain separate.
5. Third-party services and costs
The product depends on Umbraco, Umbraco.AI, a compatible AI provider, and potentially other third-party software. The customer is responsible for provider accounts, credentials, terms, usage limits, and charges. These services are not included in the product price.
6. Translation and editorial review
Omni gives editors translated content to review and refine within Umbraco. Page and section translations are saved as drafts; publishing remains an editorial decision. Dictionary values are saved directly because Umbraco does not provide a draft or publishing stage for them.
Translation quality depends on your chosen AI model, language pair and source content. AI-generated translations can contain errors or omit nuances. Omni's structural validation does not verify linguistic accuracy or suitability for a particular purpose.
You are responsible for reviewing translations for accuracy, tone and suitability before publication or other use, including obtaining qualified review for legal, medical, safety-critical or other specialist content, and arranging any regulatory or accessibility review your content requires. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Acceptable use
The product must not be used unlawfully, to bypass third-party terms, to process content the customer is not authorised to use, or to expose credentials and confidential information without appropriate safeguards.
8. Support and updates
An active paid licence includes email support for Omni setup and usage, and access to bug-fix and maintenance updates released for your supported Omni version. Use the support page for private questions, reproducible bugs and feature ideas. Evaluation users can also contact us for help getting started.
We do not promise a fixed response time, a particular future feature or a release date unless separately agreed in writing. Check the release notes and compatibility requirements before updating, and test changes before deploying to production. Support for third-party services is provided by their respective suppliers.
9. Checkout, taxes and refunds
Online purchase and evaluation signup are hosted by Polar. For purchases through Polar, Polar Software, Inc. acts as merchant of record and authorised reseller, handling payment, applicable sales taxes and receipts. You purchase from Polar; your right to use Omni is licensed by Dan Booth. Polar's buyer terms govern its checkout and payment services.
For refund requests, contact Polar support with your order details. You can also contact Omni support for help with product or licence issues. Refunds are assessed under Polar's buyer terms, any applicable purchase-specific policy and applicable law. Polar's subscription terms generally make fees for elapsed billing periods non-refundable, except where required by law or where the product has not been provided. Cancelling renewal does not itself request or guarantee a refund.
10. Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms or the software licence excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where consumer cancellation rights apply, immediate supply of digital content can end the cooling-off right only when the required express consent and acknowledgement have been obtained. Downloading or activating Omni does not, by itself, waive those rights.
